A network of professionals
“Our service stems from a project: to allow people at work or on holiday to have a car at their disposal that can accompany them everywhere, providing customised services based on their needs (our drivers wait during lunch breaks, use preferential lanes in cities or enter off-limit zones such as airport runways or city centres), all over northern Italy, even with just a few hours notice.”
When did you launch iDrive?
“My brother and I decided to embark on this journey in October 2014. We regarded it as a further expansion to our family business because, having had a restaurant for over 20 years in the province of Bergamo, we were already dealing with tourism. Of course, covering the whole of northern Italy with a fleet of cars owned by us would have been too demanding: so together with other professionals belonging to our sector we decided to build an active network. Today, this network allows us to find a car within a matter of hours which, for example, can pick up a customer whose plane has landed in Venice instead of Milan Malpensa.”
What do you mean with the term ‘professionals’?
“iDrive service is rather at the top of our category. This is because in addition to using top-level cars (only Mercedes Benz or Tesla in our case), we provide customers with an impeccable service that ranges from finding fresh water and magazines in our vehicles, to offering elegantly attired drivers and catering to our customers if they need to have lunch or spend an evening out. Our cars are also equipped with mobile phone chargers and a free Wi-Fi network which is useful for professionals.”
Who are your customers?
“Large companies that need to take employees from their premises to the airport, events such as the Fashion Week or the Salone del Mobile or sports events such as the Champions League or the Monza Grand Prix. We also deal with weddings, although in this case we need to know at least six months in advance so that we can plan the number of cars required and especially the model requested by the customer.”
